The 108-kilometer qualification race for the 2023 “World Cup” Racing Pigeon Professional Leagues (Spring Race) at Yunwai Shuizhuang Station was successfully held on March 25th, with a total of 1241 pigeons from 10 lofts. The competition was supervised by a national-level referee appointed by Chinese Racing Pigeon Association as the chief referee, and the Jiangsu Racing Pigeon Association organized the referee team to participate in the competition.
On March 26th, 2023 at 6:48 am, the 108-kilometer qualification race of the “World Cup” Racing Pigeon Professional Leagues (Spring Competition) at Yunwai Shuizhuang Station was liberated at the north of Yangzhou City in Jiangsu Province. Over a thousand racing pigeons flew out of the cages, soaring into the blue sky and swiftly heading towards home.
On the day at just past 8:04 am, the four racing pigeons of the Lingxingzhiyi team flied back almost simultaneously. The champion of this round was a raindrop-colored pigeon with ring number 1197, owned by Chen Guangping + Yang Xuesong +Sun Chao, with a speed of 1427.797 meters per minute and returning to the loft at 08:04:13. Following closely behind was the second-place winner, a racing pigeon with ring number 1290 owned by Li Ziyang + Sun Ruojing + Sun Chao, with a speed of 1427.566 meters per minute. The third place belonged to a racing pigeon with ring number 1122 owned by Li Ziyang + Sun Chao of the Lingxingzhiyi Team, with a speed of 1427.491 meters per minute. The fourth place winner was a racing pigeon with ring number 1113 owned by Guan Yongjun + Sun Chao, with a speed of 1427.104 meters per minute. The top 30 winners of this round were all decided within about half a minute, demonstrating the strong capabilities of the racing pigeons in this competition.
Up to now, a total of 1,205 pigeons from 10 lofts have returned to the loft in this round, with a homing rate of 97.10%. The young pigeons from Yunwai Shuizhuang station have successfully written a perfect ending for this round with their strength. Looking back at previous competitions, Yunwai Shuizhuang station has been a gathering place for Chinese pigeon racing experts, and the high homing rate in this round has confirmed this.
